Tom Ellis is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and a partner in the Public Finance Department of the law firm of Ballard Spahr Andrews and Ingersoll, LLP.

In 2003, Ellis was elected to the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.  During his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Tom oversaw a county budget of a half a billion dollars and utilized cutting-

edge financing techniques enabling the county to increase services while cutting costs.  Ellis was also successful

in reducing county taxes, preserving record amounts of open space, and introducing new technology to keep children safe while in school.

Public safety was the cornerstone of the Ellis Administration, culminating in the construction of a new anti-terrorism training facility for emergency personnel; a new fire-training facility for our volunteer firefighters; an expanded 911 call center and finally a sophisticated panic-button alarm system in every school in the County.

Prior to his election to the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners in 2003, Ellis served on the Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners from 1990 – 2002 where he chaired the finance committee. for state Auditor General.  Beiler is a businessman with a degree in accounting from Pepperdine University .

His main business, Amish Country Gazebos, which he started, is a multi-million dollar enterprise.

In addition to business, Beiler has successfully led teams into the political arena as well.  He has led campaigns at various levels and served as Lancaster County GOP chairman from 2000 to 2002 and is an advisor to numerous elected officials.

Beiler was county coordinator for U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum in the 2000 cycle and was also active with Bush-

Re-elect Tom Corbett for Attorney General

Tom Corbett is the current Attorney General of Pennsylvania and is running for re-election in 2008.  He took office on Jan 2005, dedicating the resources of the Office of Attorney General to make PA a safer and better place for families to live, work and grow.

He specifically made four campaign promises which he successfully fulfilled in his first term.  First,

Corbett created the Attorney General's Child Predator Unit to identify and capture Internet predators

before they can harm children, as well as to educate kids and parents about online threats.  Since its creation in

2005, the Child Predator Unit has arrested more than 120 Internet predators.

Corbett also created a Public Corruption Unit to investigate and prosecute cases involving public officials and government employees.

Protecting Pennsylvania 's senior population from fraud and abuse is another priority for Corbett.  Pennsylvania has the 3rd largest percentage of seniors in the U.S. , making the state a prime target for criminals and scam artists. The Corbett formed an Elder Abuse Unit to bring together enforcement and educational resources to best serve this vulnerable group.

Corbett's experience as a criminal prosecutor began in Allegheny County , where he served as an Assistant District Attorney, focusing on the prosecution of rape and homicide cases. In the early 1980’s, Corbett served President Reagan as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of PA.  In 1989, President George H. W. Bush appointed Corbett to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Tom Corbett's current role as Pennsylvania Attorney General is one with which he is very familiar.  In 1995, Corbett was named by Governor Ridge to complete the term of former Attorney General Ernie Preate, working to re-establish public trust and integrity to the Office of Attorney General.  During that time, Corbett created the Insurance Fraud Section and reformed the statewide Drug Task Force, which resulted in more efficient and successful prosecutions of drug crimes in Pennsylvania .

Born and raised in PA, Tom Corbett served in the PA Army National Guard 28th Infantry Division from 1971 until 1984.  His web site is www.tomcorbett2008.com.

About Melissa Hart

http://www.peoplewithhart.com/images/pic-bio.jpg

Melissa Hart was first elected to Pennsylvania's Fourth District in Congress in 2000. Despite a long Democratic history in the District, she served three terms, being re-elected by wide margins. She was the first Republican to represent the district in more than two decades, and the first Republican woman ever to represent Pennsylvania in either house of Congress.

Before her election to Congress, Melissa served for ten years in the Pennsylvania Senate, where she chaired the Senate Finance Committee and earned a reputation as a tireless advocate for Pennsylvania taxpayers.

In 2003, after just a single term, Melissa was appointed a member of the Republican Whip Team, the group of legislators responsible for guiding the party's agenda through Congress.

She served on the Judiciary Committee, the Financial Services Committee and the Science Committee for 4 years. During her last term, Melissa served on the Committee on Ways and Means. When Melissa returns to Congress she will regain her seat on the Committee with seniority. Created in 1789, the Ways and Means Committee is the oldest standing Committee in Congress. It impacts critical issues - involving economic policy, international trade, welfare, Social Security, Medicare and health care policy - The committee is often referred to as the most pivotal in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Melissa is a native of McCandless in Pittsburgh's North Hills. She is a graduate of North Allegheny High School, Washington & Jefferson College, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Public service has been her calling both while she has served in government and as a private citizen. She serves as a trustee of several important educational institutions in the region, the University of Pittsburgh, Community College of Allegheny County and Washington and Jefferson College. Her commitment to veterans has been long established as she has served for over a decade on the board of the Veterans Leadership Program. As a member of the Pittsburgh Film Office she has helped to grow this industry in the region. She also served on the board of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. She is a member of St. Alexis Church in Wexford, where she also attended elementary school.

This year, Melissa Hart is running to take back the seat she lost by a narrow margin in 2006. The district has a Democratic advantage in voter registration of more than 55,000, but her team served it well and has continued to have bipartisan support.
